12/30/21- Day 4- Shopping day! We thought we’d all fall sleep as soon as our head hit the pillow last night, but in truth, last night was rough. Finn yowled from about 3 am until 5:30 am. I know that his behavior is is based on boredom, anxiety, and being cooped up in a car for 3 days, but it was definitely exhausting. Even Frodo was distressed by the racket the cat was making, but eventually Finn settled down in the wee hours of the morning and we all went back to sleep.

We got up and finished getting the house in order. It went a lot smoother than I anticipated. The only thing left for us to do is assemble our work computers/work stations. We both need a desk and a splitter, so that is on hold for now. We are able to connect, so we hope to get everything up and running this weekend. David took Frodo for a quick walk around the property this morning to help him get acclimated. Funny enough, Frodo is already used to the deer, so no barking or growling on that account. we did discover that one of the deer (who we nicknamed Lolly) has facial paralysis which causes her tongue to hang out. She is the most curious one and will approach us hoping for food. She will allow us to get pretty close, but not close enough to hand feed her yet. On a side note- Frodo did get to see the neighbor dog through the fence and he was happy to growl and be a menace to him instead of the deer.

David and I finally made it to the grocery store around 11 am. Anna mentioned that we should go to H-E-B instead of Wal-Mart, so we gave it a try. Wow! There is not a store in the North Georgia area that can compete with this store. When I say it has everything, I am not exaggerating. The produce area alone would cover half of the local Food Lion back in Georgia. I won’t mention how much we spent on this first run to restock, but we DID get to purchase a few treats to enjoy and lots of fresh fruits and veggies.

We spent the rest of the day organizing and unpacking the rest of the house and managed to find a place for everything. We are both super comfy and love our new digs. There is a gorgeous pool on the property and we got to enjoy our outdoor living space some as well. It was also especially nice to watch the new Star Wars Boba Fett episode and cuddle and relax at the end of a long day. We haven’t really gotten to enjoy a relaxing night simply watching TV for the past few months, so we enjoyed it.
