12/31/21- Day 5- New Years Eve! We finally got to explore the area a little today! We are currently living on the Northwest side of San Antonio in hill country. There are a lot of green spaces and parks sprinkled around the area. We settled on one park that sounded promising and headed that way with Frodo in tow. One interesting thing that I have noticed about this area is that the fast food restaurants are rarely crowded. For example, the Chick-fil-A back in Georgia always had a line wrapped around the building, but that is not the case here. Additionally, I consistently see people outdoors and doing various activities. The parks are no different. our first venture was to Dwight D. Eisenhower Park. There were bikers, skaters, skate boarders, runners, walkers, etc. at all different ages and fitness levels. The weather has been hovering in the 80’s since our arrival, but today it was around 70 degrees and felt absolutely wonderful. I wish I would have snapped a picture of Frodo in the car on the way home, he had a perfect dog smile going on, but I was too busy giggling over his expression to think about it.

We dropped Frodo off at home and made a run to Walmart to pick up some odds and ends and then headed over to Papacitos for lunch. We promised ourselves that we would not visit any restaurants that we’ve already been to, but for the sake of “research” we had to see if this location was as good as the one in Marietta. Suffice to say, it was, and we both left feeling happy with our lunch choice.

We spent the rest of the day hanging by the pool. After we came in for the evening, David set up our work stations. I was getting stressed about that and was trying not to be too noticeable about it. He knows me too well though and got us set up so we are ready to go on Monday. I was able to FaceTime my mom and Julia a bit before dark and then we settled in to enjoy the fireworks the neighbor had going. Luckily the pets were not too bothered by the noise. We snuggled up and started watching the Yellowstone series and we’re both asleep by about 10 pm. Yeah, yeah… we didn’t ring in the new year, but we had a nice day and we were pretty tired from Finn’s hollering the night before. Here is to new beginnings and wonderful Memories for 2022!
