When David first mentioned Texas as our first state to live in during our travels, I was hesitant. We hadn’t really discussed Texas as an option, but since we were moving at the end of December/ early January - it limited our options. Still- I like green spaces preferably with water nearby. I was thinking we’d stick to the east coast and maybe settle in a small beach town somewhere. Imagine my surprise when David casually mentioned San Antonio as an option. I’m just not a fan of dry, arid climates. They are nice to visit, but I wasn’t sure I’d want to live in that type of environment. David, however, is a fan of all things old west, so what better way to kick off our travels than to start in Texas (home of the Alamo)? I threw caution to the wind and I am so glad that I did.
To my surprise, I have been more than happy living in San Antonio. While it is a fairly large city (7th largest city in the US) - it doesn’t feel like a typical large city to me. The roadways are well designed and we can generally get around town easily. Traffic in San Antonio doesn’t compare to traffic I’ve experience in other major cities. Yes, it’s gets backed up, but again- it’s really not that bad. Of course, I don't have a daily commute, but I’d choose this traffic to Atlanta traffic any day of the week. I have also really enjoyed being close to anything and everything I could want or need. There are plenty of stores, restaurants, museums, parks, and recreational areas to visit and it doesn’t take much to find something to do. Now that I’ve been in SA for the past few months, I will definitely miss having everything at my fingertips. With that said, I will be ending this post with a few additional pictures of our stay here in San Antonio. Enjoy!
The World’s Largest Cowboy Boots: David has a knack for finding the unusual.

Bakery Lorraine: My love for Macaroons led David to surprise me with these one afternoon. They were delicious, but also packaged fancy too!

The Pearl District- Initially home to the Pearl Brewery, now with shops, a twice-weekly farmers market, restaurants, apartments, an outdoor park area, the Culinary Institute of America, and the Hotel Emma.

Murals, Paintings, and Art- Oh My! We found all kinds of different mediums to showcase Texas talent.

Out and About: We even managed to have a few dates, hang out at the mall, and generally enjoy our time together!

Farewell San Antonio! We will miss you!!!
