Back in Michigan

When we started this journey two years ago I had one request for David. I requested that when the time was right, I would like to live in Michigan (my birth state) during our travels. David said he would make it happen and from the time we left Georgia David had a plan to get me home. As it was, after a short stay in Colorado everything fell into place to give me the holiday season with my parents in Michigan. Yes, we purposely chose to move to Michigan during the winter. As you probably have guessed by now we love the cold. 🥶 ❄️

Knowing we were moving to Michigan brought me much joy. As with any state, Michigan has its faults, but this was my home growing up and I couldn't wait to return. Little did I know that David had one more surprise up his sleeve for me...

He had arranged the most perfect house for us. It is situated only 20 minutes from my parents, AND it is right on the water!!!! Devil's Lake in Manitou Beach to be exact. Oh be still my heart. ❤️

Honestly, I can barely put into words how much I love this house and location. We can not be any closer to the water without being on the water. I thought David out did himself with the home in Washington, but I think this one is pretty darn perfect.

God even blessed us with a little snow on our first day back in Michigan.

Honestly, all my troubles seem to melt away when we are circling the lake heading back to our house. I know a lot of people prefer the lake life in the summer to enjoy the water. However, it is always noisy and crowded during that time of year. In the winter we still get the views and it is so quiet.

Finally, nothing sums up lake life in Michigan than the gorgeous sunsets over the water. This is heaven on earth. My heart is happy, and I can not think of a better place to live during our time back home.
